DEMOPOLIS &045; Peggy H. Lashley, 75, of Demopolis, died Jan. 1, 2008 at her home. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2008 at Fairhaven Baptist Church with Gwinn Ehteredge officiating. Interment will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. The Lashley family will receive friends at the church Friday from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 in the sanctuary.
Lashley was born June 30, 1932 in Lanett, a resident of Demopolis for the past 25 years, an active member of Fairhaven Baptist Church in the Ladies Six Sunday School Class and Young at Heart for the past 23 years. Joe E. Lashley and Peggy Harrison were married Oct. 14, 1950 in Lanett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas Harrison and Alberta Lindsey Harrison; two sisters, Gladys Blanton and Ruby Jennings; one brother, Willie Harrison.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Joe F. Lashley of Demopolis; one daughter, Sherry Plemmons of Greer, SC; three sons, Alan Lashley and his wife, Karen, of Demopolis; Joey Lashley and his wife, Lynn, of Livington; Andy Lashley and his wife, Donna, of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren Elizabeth Lashley, Angie Solliday and husband, James; Jay Lashley and his wife, Kaye; Marcus Lashley, Shannon McHan, Whitney Miller and her husband, John; four great-grandchildren, Madison Solliday, Mikayla Lashley, Cade Allen and Macy Miller, one sister Nita Yates and her husband, Jessie, of West Point, Ga.; one brother, Tommy Harrison of Montgomery.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Fairhaven Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be former deacons of Fairhaven, Ladies Six Sunday School Class, Young at Heart and Southern Care Hospice Nurses and staff.
