UNIONTOWN &8212; Albert Thurman Yelverton, 84, of Uniontown died on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, in Pelham. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at the Uniontown United Methodist Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The funeral graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown with the Revs. Jim Watters and Arthur Noland officiating with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors directing services.
Thurman was a lifelong native of Uniontown and was preceded in death by a son, Albert Thurman Yelverton Jr. &8220;Al,&8221; in 2005 and brother, George Wallace Yelverton, of Selma.
His wife, Annie Pearl Hoggle Yelverton and daughter, Deborah Ann Carlson, of Pelham; sisters, Violet Yelverton, of Selma, and Elaine Bishop, of Millbrook; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren, survive him.
Thurman served his country in the United States Air Corp during World War II including the Battle in Okinawa.
