DEMOPOLIS &8212; Johnnie M. Merryman, 57, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis with Douglas Null officiating and Kidd- Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis in charge of arrangements.

Merryman was a native of Mobile and a resident of Demopolis for many years. He was a self-employed contractor and served his country in the Viet-Nam Conflict.

Merryman was preceded in death by his parents, R.B. Merryman Jr., and Minnie Ware Merryman.

Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Leys Speed, of Demopolis, three nephews, Michael Leys, Jimmy Leys, Joey Leys; four great-nieces; two great-nephews and two great-great nieces.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ronnie Chu and staff, Southern Care Hospice and staff, Ed Fendley, Dana Barossa, Dennis Spence and Jamie Taylor.
