MARION &8212; Helen Josephine &8220;Jean&8221; Davis, 90, of Marion died Feb. 9, 2008, at Perry County Nursing Home in Marion. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Marion United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Waters Jr. presiding. Interment will follow at the Marion Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the Marion United Methodist Church Chapel Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel will be directing.

Davis was born Sept. 19, 1917 in Sevierville, Tenn. to Thomas Adamson and Blanche Massey Wood. She worked for the Perry County Department of Pension and Securities. Davis was a member of the Marion United Methodist Church, a member of Triad and a member of DAR for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Walter S. Davis; her parents and a sister, Catherine Rogers Wood; two brothers, Thomas Adamson Wood Jr. and Charles L. Wood and several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

The pallbearers will be David Wood, Charles L. Wood, Tom Wood, Earl Wood and Jim Mitchell. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Marion United Methodist Church, P.O. 85, Marion, AL, 36756.
