Lady Tigers win two out of three in Round Robin
TUSCALOOSA &045; The Demopolis High School softball team went 2-1 at the Hillcrest Round Robin Tournament to start the season Saturday.
Sara Davis fanned 13 batters to lead the Tigers to a 4-1 victory over Brookwood in the first game. Devin Latham plated Morgan Patterson on an RBI-single in the first inning to give DHS the lead. Brandi McGee supplied the power, connecting on a two-run homer later in the same.
The second game saw the Tigers suffer an 8-4 loss to Oak Mountain High School. DHS rebounded in the third and final game of the weekend, defeating the hosting Hillcrest Patriots 5-1. McGee started inside the circle to gain the win and provided her own run support with a grand slam in the top of the third inning.
The girls will return to Hillcrest this weekend for the Hillcrest Tournament.
