THOMASTON &8212; Joseph Fudge Flowers, 78, of Thomaston died on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Bryan W, Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Goose Creek Cemetery, in Lamison with the Rev. Earnie Calhoun officiating. O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Lamison. He was a retired electrician and a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by wife, Ernestine Martin Flowers, of Thomaston, three daughters, Debra Flowers Mitchell and husband, Jamie, of Thomaston, Charlotte Young and husband, Robert of Eufaula, Gail Santana of Modesto, Calif., one brother Pete Flowers Jr., of Pleasant Grove, one sister, Emmie Anderson, of Birmingham, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Glenn Ray, Kenny Wayne Agee, Robert McCarty, Randy McCarty, Larry Flowers and Keith Franz. Honorary pallbearer was Gerald Morgan.
