SELMA &8212; Dorothy Lee Skinner Hollingshead, 78, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at a local Selma hospital.
Graveside services were held at 4 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2008, in the church cemetery at Casey Church of Christ with the Rev. Timothy Richburg officiating and Selma Funeral Home Directing.
Dorothy &8220;Dot&8221; Lee Skinner Hollingshead was born Aug 30, 1929, in Selma. Hollingshead was the second of four children born to the late Earle Ray Skinner and Zora Mae Bender Skinner. She attended Casey School and was one of four students to graduate from Carlowville High School in 1948. Hollingshead was a lifelong member of Casey Church of Christ. She was a homemaker.
On Sept.9, 1950, she married the late Will Otis Hollingshead of Braggs. This couple had five children.
One son, Herman Wayne Hollingshead, of Selma and her sister, Erlene Tucker, and husband, JC, of Greensboro, preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children: Ronnie Hollingshead and wife, Carol, Glenn Hollingshead and wife, Martha, Gail Buster and husband, Doug, and Dianne Barkley, her two brothers, Bo Skinner and wife, Polly, and Ray Skinner and wife, Carol Ann, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers were Michael Hicks, David Blackmon, Heath Hollingshead, Nick Stevens, Blake Buster, Brent Buster, Gabe Kelly, Mike Skinner and Kirk Skinner.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Casey Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 390, Tyler, AL, 36785.
