Largest edition of the year hits stands Saturday
Each year, The Times takes the first months out of the year to prepare for our most spectacular section of the year, Profile. For each Profile edition, The Times&8217; staff decides a theme fitting for the tribute and this year&8217;s chosen theme is Parade of Faces.
Parade of Faces is designed to highlight diverse faces of the community. It captures the true glimpse of Demopolis and Marengo County.
The edition will include sections entitled Heroic Faces, Neighborhood Faces, Commercial Faces, 24 Hours and Faces and Places of Greene, Hale, Sumter and Perry Counties. These sections will highlight individuals, organizations and businesses that do extraordinary things for their community.
Heroic Faces is our opportunity to honor the unsung heroes of the community. This is a special tribute in which eight people are spotlighted and a Heroic Face of the Year is chosen.
Civic clubs and organizations will be featured in the Neighborhood Faces section. This section will also include people in the community who make a difference. The section will take a look at times of the past and the future of the community.
Commercial Faces is a section dedicated to our community&8217;s business industry. It focuses on businesses that make a difference and are a staple in the area. This section will highlight business achievements, as well as business traditions.
The section, 24 Hours, will take a look at Demopolis and Marengo County for a 24-hour period. It captures the happenings of the community through the lens of a camera.
Faces and Places of Greene, Hale, Sumter and Perry Counties is centered on regional businesses that impact the Demopolis and Marengo County area. The section details commercial business information, as well as scenes from the regional area.
