A special tribute to our readersIt&8217;s an exciting Saturday here at The Demopolis Times. The issue in your hands is the result of months of labor&8212; our &8220;Profile&8221; issue.

There was a time when publishing a newspaper was called &8220;the daily miracle.&8221; When you think about it, producing a daily news publication is still a little bit of a miracle.

We hope that today&8217;s newspaper holds a little bit of that old-fashioned magic. This is The Times&8217; largest issue of the year &8212; an issue where we do our best to get to know Demopolis and Marengo County and share our excitement, our passion for life in West Alabama with our readers.

Because Profile is such a labor-intensive process, our staff has had to plunge into its stories full bore. Even though there are new faces in our newsroom, each has contributed in his or her own unique way. This issue could never have been completed without their efforts.

But the people who deserve the most thanks are our readers. Without you, dear readers, this labor of love would mean nothing. Without an audience, a stage magician is just a man performing silly tricks. So who would we be, if it weren&8217;t for our readers.

We hope you enjoy our Profile edition, and we invite you to share our passion and interest in Demopolis and Marengo County.
