DEMOPOLIS &8212; The Rock-Tenn Company will host the fourth annual Charity Golf Tournament to raise money for Relay for Life Friday, April 11 at the Demopolis Country Club.
He and other organizers at Rock-Tenn are hopeful this year&8217;s tournament will raise upwards of $12,000 for the American Cancer Society, which would best the $10,000 the event brought in last year.
The tournament is a four-player scramble and has already registered 24 teams, three more than the 2007 total.
The tournament has already grown considerably since its first year. That event saw 17 teams compete and raised just under $9,000.
According to Willie, every penny of the $65 registration fee will go to the American Cancer Society.
The tournament is set to tee off at noon after providing a barbecue lunch from 10:30-11:30 a.m. There will opportunities to win prizes on all par threes in addition to the door prizes that will be given away.
Registration for the event is open until Wednesday, April 9. Individuals wishing to enter or receive more information should contact Willie at 334-289-6200 or Chuck Smith at 289-6280.
