DHS tennis beats Northeast

The Demopolis High School tennis team traveled to Meridian, Miss. to pick up a win Thursday, beating the 6A program at Northeast High School 5-3.
In the girls&8217; draw, top-seeded Sydney Hill defeated Lisa Bynum in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. No. 2 seed Alexa Beech also pulled the straight sets victory in her match, prevailing over Tonya Bynum 6-3, 6-2. In girls&8217; doubles, Meredith Price and Cameron Barton extended their winning streak, defeating Elise Nix and Franziska Schrier 6-1, 6-1.
In boys&8217; competition, No. 1 seed Walker McNeill won his match in straight sets while the doubles team of eighth-graders Parker Coleman and Neilson Renner won a marathon match that lasted nearly two hours. The pair won 6-3, 6-4 over Tyler Yates and Dylan Brown.
