Eldean P. Burge

LINDEN &8212; Eldean P. Burge, 90, of Linden, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services were held at Linden Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, with the Rev. Jack Green, Steve Rogers and the Rev. Randy Creel officiating. Burial was at Linden Memorial Park in Linden. O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden directed.
She was born July 15, 1917, in Fayette County. She was a beautician for more than 40 years. She was a member of Linden Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 12 years. She enjoyed making coconut cakes, etc. for others until she was 90 years old.
Her husband, George Lee Burge, son, Leland Burge, mother, Blanche Eugenia Barley Peaton, father, Edward Gray Peaton, three brothers, Leon, Louis and Edward Peaton, and her sister, Beaulah Wright, precedes her in death.
She is survived by her three daughters, Faye H. Anton in Linden; Jackie H. Barnwell and husband, Bob, of Houston, Texas; Leola B. Kennedy, and husband, Bob, of Lubbock, Texas; her sister, Lena P. Cunningham of Montgomery, 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were: Glyn E. Trotman, Trey E. McPherson, Larry Burge, Samuel L. Burge, Andrew Thomas and Jonathan Munner. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Barnwell and Scott Munner.
