Melodie King recently joined The Demopolis Times staff as the classified ads representative.

King, who has been working in publishing since 1997, joins the staff with extensive experience in sales and publishing.

King moved from Oregon to Demopolis in January with her husband, Randy, who works for Rail America. King has two children, 19-year-old Amber and 17-year-old Adam.

When asked what her goals are for her new position with The Times, King said she hopes to bring new ideas to the company and expand the potential for classified ads.

When King is not working, she said she is passionate about writing and performing Christian music, something she hopes to pursue in Demopolis.
