LINDEN &8212; After receiving a tip from a Linden resident, police arrested two black males on drug and weapons charges on May 28.
Jeremy Dewayne Daniels, 21, of Demopolis, was arrested for possession of marijuana in the first degree. Daniels was found with 29 grams of marijuana in one bag, another bag with seven to eight smaller bags of Marijuana packaged for sale and a set of digital scales.
Daniels was also found with a High Point .40-caliber pistol with laser sight and two fully-loaded magazines. He was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit. Officers also seized Daniels&8217; Cadillac and $266 in cash.
According to Linden Police Chief Scott McClure, Daniels is being held on bond in the Marengo County Detention Center. McClure said he has requested through the district attorney&8217;s office that Daniels&8217; bond be revoked because he is already out on bond for an April 2007 possession of controlled substance charge through the Demopolis Police Department.
Also arrested was Michael Walters, who was wanted for an old warrant in Pine Hill. Walters was transported to the Pine Hill Police Department for processing. Since Daniels admitted to owning all of the incriminating items, the two other males in the vehicle at the time were released.
The arrests were made in Austin Park, a common area for children to play in Linden. McClure said they would like to thank the person who called in this tip and stopped these drugs from being sold to our children.
