Rodeo considered a huge success
DEMOPOLIS &8212; The quarterback club&8217;s second major fundraiser of the year went off with few hitches, drawing an estimated 2,500 people over two nights and prompting club president Kenny Freeman to call the event a &8220;huge success.&8221;
While the rodeo&8217;s attendance numbers were high, it is the event&8217;s monetary draw that qualifies it as a success.
If the club&8217;s preliminary estimates are correct, it will have raised more than $30,000 over the course of its two major fundraisers.
The club&8217;s success has come as a surprise to many, causing even Freeman to reflect upon how far the group has come.
Causey expressed his sincere appreciation for the DHS football players and the club members whose work, he says, made the event possible. The club now turns its attention to assessing aspects of its most recent event.
