DEMOPOLIS — Alex J. Roberson turned the battle for District 2 into a three-man race, facing Charles Jones Jr. and Mitchell Congress in a battle for the seat of outgoing councilman Charles Jones Sr.

Jones Sr. declined to run for re-election earlier this year.

Also, Ronnie L. Byrd qualified to challenge incumbent Melvin Yelverton for District 3.
