Mamie Rice Larkin
BELLAMY — Mamie Rice Larkin, 77, of Bellamy, died July 11, 2008 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Coatopa. The Rev. Albert Murdock Jr. officiated. Interment followed in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Coatopa. Larkin & Scottt Funeral Directors of Demopolis were in charge of arrangements.
She graduated from U.S. Jones High School and became a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church serving as president of the Missionary Society, Sunday School Teacher, vice president of the Mt. Herman District Women’s Convention.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Willie Rice Sr., her husband, Mason Larkin Sr., and three sisters, Mariah Rice, Lucille Milhouse, and Bethune McKibben.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories three loving children, Mason Larkin Jr. and his wife, Johanna, Larkin of Plainfield, N.J., Linda Thomas and her husband, Charles, of Livingston, and Terry Larkin and his wife, Linda, of Lithonia, Ga.; two brothers, the Rev. Willie C. Rice and his wife, Kay, of Coatopa, and Joe L. Rice Sr. of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Bertha McCreaer, Leatha Jones and Rosie Kelly and her husband, Kennis, of Birmingham; two aunts, Harriet Seales and Melon Taylor of Coatopa; three brothers in law; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
