New hires highlight Marengo BOE meeting
LINDEN — With 10 new hires in attendance, the Marengo County Board of Education voted to hire 10 more faculty and staff Wednesday.
That leaves only two more positions open, Superintendent Dr. Luke Hallmark said.
“We have two more positions we’re going to fill,” he said. “And those are support staff.”
As the county schools prepare for a new academic year, Hallmark is also expecting some good news today.
The school system is expected to get its Adequate Yearly Progress report today around 5 p.m., Hallmark said — and he thinks the system will do well again this year.
“I don’t forsee that any school in our system will have to go into the school improvement program,” Hallmark said. “Overall I think we will look pretty good.”
