The Demopolis High School cheerleaders are working to raise money for their trip to the Liberty Bowl. They will be a part of the game’s halftime show on Jan. 2.
“Our last fund-raiser is the calendars,” said DHS cheerleader advisor Amie Attaway. “The calendars will feature the high school cheerleaders and the senior football players. We’re selling them for $15.”
The DHS cheerleaders were invited to perform at halftime of the Memphis bowl game, marking its 50th annual Liberty Bowl.
“We will spend five days in Memphis,” Attaway said. “We’ll take part in the pre-game festivities, like the parade and the rodeo the night before the game, and we’ll go to that as well. We’ve been working all summer to raise the funds to go to this.”
Anyone wanting to buy a calendar or to donate money for the DHS cheerleaders’ Liberty Bowl trip can contact a cheerleader or make the donation at the school. Checks should be made out to the DHS cheerleaders.
