Blackbelt Gazette relocating to Times office

Beginning Monday, Dec. 1, the Demopolis Times and Blackbelt Gazette will each operate from the office located at 315 E. Jefferson St., the present office of the Times.

At the same time, the former office of the Blackbelt Gazette, located at 115 E. Washington Street, will be the new home West Alabama Shoppers: Publishers of the Marengo, Wilcox, Greene/Hale and Clarke County shoppers guides.

The two newspapers will continue to operate as separate publications. Jason Cannon will be editor and publisher of both the Times and the Gazette.

Leewanna Parker will be news editor of the Blackbelt Gazette and a member of the Times news staff. David Snow has been named managing editor of Boone Publications Inc. and its newspapers, the Times and the Gazette.

“This change enables us to concentrate the efforts of the Times and the Gazette as we continue to improve our level of service to our customers,” Cannon said.

The Times, the Gazette and West Alabama Shoppers are owned by Boone Publications Inc.
