Local home-schools attend college seminar
The Marengo County 4-H 4-Life Homeschool Group hosted a seminar with the University of Alabama last week.
Melissa Cox informed the group about various scholarships and programs available to high school students.
They discussed qualifications and scores needed for the programs.
Several of the students are interested in going into the medical field through the programs at the University of Alabama and UAB. They learned about rural scholarship programs for local students that provides incentives for them finish a college education in the medical field and return to the rural areas of Alabama to practice medicine.
