James Braswell

James Alex Braswell, age 86, of Demopolis passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Southern Oaks Assisted Living.
He was a native of Magnolia, and a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was a retired machinist.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Kidd-Robbins on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Scott officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Linden Memorial Park. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis is directing the services.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Margie Lee Braswell; four sisters, Willie Hall, Joanne Horne, Sara Neil Bridges and Jennie Mae Easterling; and three brothers, Homer Braswell, Otto Braswell and Henry Braswell.
He is survived by three daughters, Hazel (Wallace) Vick of Demopolis, Brenda B. (George) McClure of Thomaston and Carolyn Rogers of Beaumont, Miss.; one son, James Leon (Pamela) Braswell of Mannford, Okla.; two sisters, Lucille Dunn of Demopolis and Jean (Donald) Thrash of Myrtlewood; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Horne, Heath McClure, Dexter Drake, Hal Cannon, Doug Cannon, Steve Cherry and Blake Braswell.
