Virginia Braswell

Virginia Tolman (Wee) Braswell, age 81, died on Feb. 11, 2009, at her home in Demopolis.
She was born in Medford, Mass., and later moved to Uniontown at the age of 7. She graduated from Auburn University and later made her home in Demopolis.
Graveside services were held on Feb. 13 at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis with Dr. Art Luckie officiating. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Moncure Ilsley Tolman.
She was survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred O. Braswell Jr.; her daughter, Pam Braswell (Don) Daily of Dublin, Ga.; her son, Fred O. (Sandra) Braswell III of Wetumpka; sisters-in-law Maurine “Bunny” (Riddell) Abrams and Annabele Braswell, both of Demopolis; five grandchildren, Gayle Daily (Brian) Kenah of Marietta, Ga., Michael Tolman (Tara) Daily of Savannah, Ga., Katelyn Virginia Braswell of Mobile, and Frances Tolman Braswell and Robert Lee Sorrells Jr., both of Auburn; two great-grandchildren, Tolman Lawrence Kenah and Daily Virginia Kenah; two nieces and two nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were Sam Braswell, Mark Abrams, Michael Daily, Lee Sorrells, Mike Cummings, Steve Brannum, Boyd Mackey and Bill Mackey.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Demopolis Public Library, 217 E. Washington St., Demopolis, AL 36732; the First United Methodist Church of Demopolis, 200 E. Decatur St., Demopolis, AL 36732; or the American Cancer Society.
