Demopolis police and firefighters were called to a trailer fire at approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday at 214 South Glover Avenue. The trailer was completely destroyed and the investigation into the cause is currently ongoing. However, Demopolis Fire Chief Ronnie Few said one of the residents of the home noted they believed some type of electrical appliance may have been left on near the front of the home. “We’re not sure just yet, so we’re still looking at everything,” he said. Few noted the residents of the trailer were at home at the time of the fire. “They were inside and woke up in enough time to escape the residence,” he said. “They’re very fortunate.” The home was completely consumed by the blaze, leaving nothing but rubble and ashes once firefighters were able to squelch the flames.
