Girl Scout Troop 331 in Demopolis is trying to spread a little cookie joy around.
In the midst of “cookie time,” the troop is taking donations toward the purchase of Girl Scout cookies to be used for a worthy community service project.
The troop will give the donated cookies to the Wonderful Wednesdays Program at the First United Methodist Church of Demopolis. This is a free program and ministers to 70 to 90 children from Demopolis and from all denominations.
“Our troop will use money donated to the cause to purchase cookies to give to the church for snacks,” said troop leader Cindy Williams.
Cookies include all-time favorites: Thin Mints, Samoas, Trefoils, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Lemon Chalet Cremes and Sugar-Free Chocolate Chip. Each box sells for $3.50.
Williams said people wanting to donate can contact the troop’s co-leader, Chrissy Brooker, at 287-2626 or Williams at 289-3969. They can also mail donations to: Girl Scout Troop 331, 1322 Edgewood Drive, Demopolis, AL 36732.
