Frank Leon Allen, Sr., of Newbern died on March 2, 2009.
He was a lifelong dairy farmer of Hale County and an elder in the Newbern Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at the Newbern Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Alton M. Phillips and the Rev. Dee McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Newbern Cemetery. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directing the services.
Survivors include his wife, Serena Allen; three daughters, Malinda (David) Stewart, Felicia McIntyre and Susan (Geoff) Ledbetter; a son, Frank L. Allen, Jr.; two sisters, Anne Allen Jay and Jane Allen Hewitt; a brother, Bryant Lee Allen; nine grandchildren, Amy Leigh, James Allen Stewart, Ashley Clary, Cleo Hodgins, Chase Compton, Lauren McIntyre, Cassandra McIntyre, Geoffrey Ledbetter, Jr., and Frank Allen Ledbetter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a beloved friend, Pascal Tutwiler.
