Arrest made in Chevron robbery

Demopolis Police Department officers arrested a man in connection with the armed robbery at Parr’s Chevron on U.S. Highway 80 East.

That robbery took place on March 8 at about 5 p.m. According to Parr’s vice president Jim Parr, the suspect, wearing a motorcycle helmet, took almost $500 in cash and fled on foot. The cashier was unharmed.

Rodney Walker, 18, of Demopolis was charged with first-degree robbery on Friday at 10 a.m. DPD chief Tommie Reese said other charges may be pending against Walker from within Marengo County.

“I want to commend the whole police department for their work in this arrest,” Reese said.
