Police respond to bomb threat

A bomb threat called into the Demopolis Inn Monday afternoon caused little more than a few anxious minutes for the residents of the building.

According to Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese, a suspect called the Demopolis Inn at approximately 4:40 p.m. Monday warning that residents had two minutes to vacate the premises before the device detonated. Residents of the Inn were evacuated to the sidewalk outside.

A sweep of the building found no explosives.
