Support local merchants in gift hunt

With Mother’s Day right around the corner the men and children of Marengo County will flock to retailers and merchants in search of the “perfect” gifts for their wives, girlfriends and mothers.
Between our downtown Demopolis shops and restaurants, the businesses located along Highway 80 and what lines the streets of Linden, those gifts can easily be found here in our county.
We have more than our fair share of unique specialty shops. Many of these shops were opened specifically for women.
Shopping locally makes sense for you, our local merchants and our economy. One dollar spent locally turns over three times within the local community, making an even greater impact right here at home. Shopping locally saves time and money for you and helps support the businesses in our community that employ our friends and neighbors, support our schools and fuel our economy.
Buying that special lady in your life that perfect gift may just make her Mother’s Day that much more special.
But if that purchase helps pave a road, buy a text book or repair part of a municipal infrastructure, then that was truly the perfect gift and you’ll impact a lot of lives in the process.
