All schools in Marengo County — including Demopolis City Schools, Linden City Schools and Marengo County schools — are closing at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) in advance of a threatening weather system moving this way.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Marengo County as well as the surrounding counties of Perry and Dallas until 6 p.m. CT tonight. People are encouraged to be on the watch for weather reports throughout the day and to take precautions as the weather worsens

The meeting at Demopolis High School for parents of Tiger football players that was scheduled for today was postponed and will take place on Wednesday, May 13, at 5:30 p.m. at the DHS auditorium.
