The First Baptist Church of Demopolis’s senior adult group and a few others were treated to a special concert Thursday morning.
The Just Older Youth enjoyed a recital of the violin played by Joe Ortiguera, who was accompanied by the piano by Roselyn Waldrop and a performance by pianist Kayley Cook.
Ed Rush, the director for the group, was pleased with the response and the turnout of all who came to hear the musicians play.
Ortiguera, who is a graduate music student at the University of Alabama, was more than happy to play. In fact, it was his idea.
“Since the first time I came here, everyone’s been so nice,” said Ortiguera.
“I really appreciated all of the opportunities, and I felt that this is how I could give back.”
