Dena Lenoir has been hard at work getting together the necessary arrangements for the tournament.
“I have been busy getting the fields ready for the games and getting the motels together for players and coaches. I have spent today trying to put together tournament passes for all of the teams.”
“We have been hosting either a state tournament or a world series tournament for the past few years now,” said Lenoir, “so I have been busy doing all of the work that it takes to get these types of tournaments off the ground.”
The tournament will begin Friday at 1 p.m.
The tournament will be a round-robin bracket with each team playing the other four over the three-day tournament. The winner of the tournament will face-off against the winner of the North State tournament at North Western Shoals Community College in Tuscumbi.
The winner of the two regional state winners will move on to take on 11 other states in the Dixie Major and Pre-Major World Series.
If you are interested in attending the game, you may buy tickets for each game for $5 for adults or $3 for children 12 and under.
You can also buy a pass to the games that will allow you enter both tournaments everyday for $30.
