Thanks for the memories

Dear editor, The Times,

During my 24 years of service in the central office of the Demopolis City School District, I achieved many successes with the help of some very special individuals. It is with a deep sense of appreciation that I publicly acknowledge and thank the past and present office support staff and the custodial staff in each of the four schools for the many years of loyalty and support. These individuals were a blessing to me in ways they will never know.

I would also like to thank those teachers who cooperated and worked so diligently with me over the years by serving on committees or developing curriculum guides; and the special education teachers and paraprofessionals who worked hard every day in meeting the needs of the students and the demands and challenges of the program.

I leave as part of my legacy and a highlight of my career, a new teacher orientation binder, which contains many pearls of wisdom to help new teachers begin and end their school year successfully.

A special thanks to Aretha Littles for the countless hours spent on the initial development of this guide that, hopefully, will continue to be updated for future new hires as they begin their tenure with the Demopolis City Schools.
