Habitat for Humanity is taking applications for people who want to have a home provided by the non-profit housing organization.
Applications will be made available at an informative meeting at the Theo Ratliff Activity Center on First Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 8. The doors will open at 9:45 a.m. and will be closed at 10:05 a.m. Those seeking an application or information about Habitat for Humanity will be let in between those times only; no one will be let in after 10:05.
“We’re going to take applications from 10 a.m. to noon,” said Terry Charleston, a member of Demopolis Area Habitat for Humanity. “People have to be present to put in an application.”
Charleston recommended that applicants bring a pen or pencil to fill out the applications and other information that may be required on the application, including utility bills or their last paycheck stub.
The homes built by Habitat for Humanity are provided interest-free.
