Parr’s West completes renovation

Through most of the summer, traveling down Highway 80 West, it was hard to miss the construction. Now, it’s hard to miss the results.
After nearly two years, Pruitt’s Service Station is now Demopolis’ third Parr’s Chevron.
“It’s really about consistency and convenience more than anything,” Joe Parr said of the remodeling. “We’ve widened the pump area to make it easier for customers to get in and out, and it brings Parr’s West up to the Chevron standard of excellence, just like the other Parr’s Chevron stations.”
Aside from the lot improvements, the station was affixed with a new canopy and new Chevron signage. A large permanent sign is expected to be installed later this week.
“One of our newest additions is our Beer Cave inside,” Parr said. “We wanted to offer something different from any other convenience store in town, in both variety and selection and at the best prices.”
Parr said the station has already seen an increase in business, and he attributes that to the improvements, his customers and customer service.
“We’re lucky,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of good customers, reliable and consistent customers. And we’ve got a lot of good employees who’ve worked with us for a long time. None of this would have been possible without those two groups of people.”
Parr’s Chevron has been operated by the Parr family for nearly 70 years with stations in Demopolis, Selma, Thomasville, Eutaw, Greensboro and Creola.
