Patriotism: A disturbing local trend

Dear editor, The Times,

I went to a UWA’s football game (Thursday) night and I saw something very disturbing, and I am seeing it more and more everywhere I go, and that is people talking and walking around when our National Anthem is being played.

This makes me so mad…So many men and women are fighting now, have fought before and have lost their lives for this flag and what it represents: Our freedom.

If we ever lose our respect for our National Anthem and what it stands for, we as a God-fearing nation will fail.

I am talking about grown men walking around that night, so it is not just our young people.

Adults, wake up and please stand at attention and teach your children to do the same during our National Anthem.
