National headlines indicate the economy is rebounding. This week, Demopolis welcomed a news business, Penn’s.

We’ve been fortunate in the past year. We’ve seen Marvin’s expand. An Aaron’s was constructed and practically revitalized an entire shopping center.

We will soon welcome yet another business, Hudson’s Dirt Cheap to that same shopping center.

We’re on the heels of Christmas on the River, which will certainly pump a few handful of dollars into the local economy as tourists and travelers trek our way to partake in this event.

Over the past 12 to 16 months, many people have lived by the mantra, “It could be worse.” We’ve been fortunate to experience much better than that.
