Funeral services for Catherine Ray Washington of Forkland were held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at noon at the First United Baptist Church of Forkland. The Rev. Lynn Finch officiated, and Sis. Valencia Bell was the mistress of order. Interment of the cremains followed in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.
Survivors include her husband, Hardis Washington of Forkland; three daughters, Roberta (Billy) Hicks and Shelia (Curtis) Dancy, both of Northport, and Reneshia L. Washington of Forkland; three sisters, Bertha Ray, Rosie Gaiter and Georgia Isaac, all of Forkland; two brothers, Franklin (Viola) Ray of Forkland and Henry (Annie) Ray of Bloomfield, Mich.; four stepchildren, Davie Holiday of Port Washington, N.Y., Michael Spencer of Forkland, and Harvolis Washington and Sharvolis Washington, both of Birmingham; four grandchildren, Kheifer Childs, Jaliah Dancy, Katelynn Hicks and Jaden Dancy, all of Northport; two god-granddaughters, Sharkia Spencer of Eutaw and Alencia McGee of Northport; a best friend, Eliza Acoff of Bessemer; and two god-daughters, Angel Marcette and Tracy Bailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
