Hubert Brooks Ryan, age 86, of Greensboro passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis.
He was born on July 25, 1923, in Hale County to Hubert and Alma Perry Ryan. He was employed by Plastics and Dairy Fresh as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Zuma Skelton and Marcell Lyons; and two brothers, Robert Ryan and Zernie Ryan.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Louise Wilson and Rita Collins, both of Greensboro; one stepson, Robert Kenneth McCrory of Greensboro; one sister, Alma Claire Warren of Tuscaloosa; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. at New Haven Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Shirley officiating. Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel is directing the services.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Plastics, employees of Dairy Fresh, Dr. paul Ketcham, Dr. Keith Dismukes, the staff of Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital, members of Rhodes Chapel Baptist Church, Amos Hill and the community of Bucksnort.
