Ada Doggett

Ada Plummer “Plum” Shepherd Doggett, age 87, of York died on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation Center in York. .
She was a homemaker and a member of York Baptist Church. She was also a member of York Business and Professional Women’s Club, having served as that group’s president.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Toby Doggett; one daughter-in-law, Chris Tartt Doggett; two grandchildren, Amy Dial and DeWayne Dial; and her special friend of 73 years, Mildred Doggett Miller.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy D. (Lindsey) Dial; three sons, Tommy (Patricia) Doggett, Johnny (Sandra) Doggett and Toby Doggett; 10 grandchildren, Gena (Al) Robbins, Tom Doggett, Sherry (George) Patterson, Kim (Scott) Dawson, Tracy (Kevin) Gordy, Denice (Johnny) Moore, Ashley Dial, Damian (Jennifer) Doggett, Ted Doggett and Kelly Orlean (Phillip) Etheridge; 13 great-grandchildren, Creed Robbins, Kate Robbins, Benjamin Doggett, Jack Doggett, McKenzie Dawson, Dylan Dawson, Jessica Gordy, Johnathan Gordy, Ryan Moore, Amy Moore, Emily Doggett, Addie Doggett and Brealynn Etheridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Monday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. at the York City Cemetery with the Rev. David Wilkinson and the Rev. John Evangelista officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at 10a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home of York, which directed the services.
Pallbearers were Tom Doggett, Johnny Moore, Scott Dawson, Kevin Gordy, Damian Doggett, Ted Doggett, Al Robbins, George Patterson, Phillip Etheridge, Creed Robbins, Benjamin Doggett, Ryan Moore, Dylan Dawson, Johnathan Gordy and Jack Doggett.
