Drug bust nets 11 arrests

On Nov. 25, the Demopolis Police Department made a large drug bust, netting 11 suspects in a city-wide round-up.
Arrested in the sweep were Walter Evans Jr., 20, charged with possession of marijuana (second degree); Duane Carroll, 30, charged with possession of marijuana (second degree); Juan McClain, 37, charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance; Marcus Branch, 33, charged with distribution of a controlled substance; Erica Carter, 29, charged with sale of marijuana and distribution of a controlled substance; Matthew Coleman, 20, charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance; William Taylor, 21, charged with possession of marijuana; Chris Dill, charged with distribution of a controlled substance; Jarrod Moore, charged with distribution of a controlled substance; and Jonathan Dollison, charged with distribution of a controlled substance.
Frankie Scott was arrested by the Demopolis Police Department along with Alcoholic Beverage Control on a federal indictment on drug charges from Mobile.
All of the suspects are from Demopolis, DPD Chief Tommie Reese said.
“This was the result of a nine-month undercover investigation,” he said.
“There are more arrests to follow. We did a round-up in arresting these suspects, and there are more warrants pending. We will continue to work to clean up drugs in Demopolis.”
