Interviews for to fill the vacant Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce president’s position are expected to begin this week.
Chamber director Ray Saliba said the board of directors has assembled an interview committee and has begun to process the pile of resumes mailed to the chamber office from applicants.
“In all, we received approximately 30 to 35 resumes,” Saliba said. “We’ll evaluate those and contact those who best suit our job description and our needs and proceed from there.”
Saliba said he hopes to have all interviews conducted in the coming days and would like to have extended an offer to an applicant by the Chamber board’s next meeting Jan. 11.
“Ideally, we will have found our person by our next meeting,” Saliba said, “but we’re not going to rush into anything. We’re looking for a really good match here.”
