LINDEN — The Linden girls used a trio of scorers and a pressure defense to rout A.L. Johnson 61-39 Friday night. Despite Lady Eagle sophomore guard Ashley Edwards posting a game high 28 points, ALJ was unable to run with Linden. Kileema Rogers led LHS with 21 points. Terrica Craig added 19 while Latice Glover finished with 16.

LINDEN — Roosevelt Moore’s team knew it needed to keep the ball out of the hands of ALJ guard Kejuan McGhee and the Patriots’ press did just that en route to a 61-51 win over the Eagles Friday night. Linden (6-5, 2-0) trailed 23-21 in the second quarter when Moore took a timeout that sparked a 9-0 Patriot run. ALJ managed one more basket in the opening half to go into the locker room down 30-25.

In the second half, Linden’s press combined with ALJ’s lack of depth spelled doom for the Eagles’ aspirations of finishing region play undefeated. The Eagles used only six players in the game’s first three quarters and did not make a substitution after halftime until McGhee fouled out in the fourth quarter.
