Grateful for board leadership

Dear editor, The Times:
January is National Public School Board Member Month. I want to personally thank every Linden City School board member for their very important job.
It is often a thankless, very little appreciated, time consuming and always payless job. They all do it on a volunteer basis, which is very civic-minded.
They do this with no fanfare. These board members have to make tough decisions that affect many people’s lives during these tough economic times.
They also have to deal with serious school problems caused by our rapidly changing social and moral values.
They have decisions with problems that involve possible legal and liable issues.
Again, they do it with little recognition or fanfare. I hope everyone in Linden will personally thank the following five people for this valuable service they perform for all the people of Linden. They are: Mrs. Joyce Yeager, chairperson; Mrs. Eunice Jones; Ms. Jackie Shields; Mrs. Frances Jackson; and Mr. James L. (Jim) Wicks.
