Bryant honored as Top Cop

Demopolis Police Department Officer Richard Bryant was named the Top Cop in the Southwest Alabama region.
Fred Armstead Jr., the law enforcement liaison for Alabama Tombigbee Highway Traffic Enforcement, presented Bryant with a new dual stalker radar system for outstanding achievement in traffic safety in reducing speed- and alcohol-related fatalities in the city of Demopolis.
Bryant has written more than 800 traffic citations in the last 10 months, impacting driver behavior within the city.
Statistics show that the state of Alabama averages more than 247 deaths per year from alcohol-related crashes. The goal of the Alabama Tombigbee Traffic Safety and all law enforcement agencies is to change driver behavior and save lives.
