Eighteen students and two faculty advisers from Greensboro were invited to participate in the Alabama International Relations Club Model UN (ALMUN) Development Initiative program that took place from August through mid-February.
The program consisted of a series of training sessions throughout the year where the students would get the chance to put their debating skills to use.
ALMUN is a high school-level, assembly-based Model United Nations conference hosted by the Alabama International Relations Club at the University of Alabama. High schools throughout the state are invited to register delegations of students to enroll in ALMUN and take seats on one or more of five committees based on their country assignments, to debate issues that press on the global community by and large and work towards drafting resolutions to help solve these problems.
