Three Pine Hill men were arrested Thursday, the result of a nearly two-year joint investigation by the Pine Hill Police Department and Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Officers executed three search warrants in the Pine Hill police jurisdiction last week where two alleged drug dealers were arrested under federal indictment warrants for illegal distribution of cocaine.
All three search warrants were executed March 4. The searches were executed at Peachtree Apartments in Pine Hill, and at two residences on Ala. Highway 5 South in Pine Hill.
Arrested were Anthony T. Anderson, 30, of Pine Hill, charged with unlawful distribution of cocaine; Solomon Johnson, 53, of Pine Hill, charged with unlawful distribution of cocaine; and Scotty Bishop, 38, of Pine Hill, charged with unlawful possession of marijuana (second degree).
“I would like to thank the ABC board and its agents for their cooperation in investigating and following through on the illegal drug trafficking in our area,” said Pine Hill police chief John Brown. “I would like to thank the following agencies for their help and support in executing the search warrants: ABC board, Clarke Co. Sheriff’s Depart-ment, Marengo Co. Sheriff’s Department, Grove Hill Police Department, U.S. Army RAID helicopter unit and members of the Pine Hill Police Department.”
Brown said the arrests were part of his department’s “zero tolerance” drug policy.
