James Aiken

James Wrenn Aiken, age 77, passed away on April 25, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1932, in Sumter County to the late William Vernon and Lilly Gibson Aiken.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Vaughn of Birmingham and Candace (Jason) Reid of Helena; a son, James Aiken of Birmingham; and seven grandchildren, Laura Vaughn, Hunter Vaughn, Maggie Vaughn, Mason Smith, Charlee Reid, Raven Aiken and Lexi Aiken.
Funeral services were held on April 27, at 2 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with the Rev. George McKee officiating. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial followed at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directed the services.
Active pallbearers were Hunter Vaughn, Jason Reid, James Aiken, Barry Brackin, Bobby Lindsey and Larry Cain.
