Janiece Luker Wilkerson Hill, age 69, of Hayden, formerly of Demopolis, passed away on Sept. 18, 2010, at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham.
She was born on Aug. 8, 1941, in Marengo County to the late Jesse and Rubye Pearle Phillips Luker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward E. Luker.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Hill of Hanceville; a daughter, Debra Wilkerson (Dan) Stegall of Meridian, Miss.; a son, Robbie Wilkerson of Elberta; three sisters, Faye (Dick) Porter of Gallion, Patsy (Sammy) Coats of Gallion and Pam (Keith) Durham of Demopolis; three brothers, Harold (Peggy) Luker of Demopolis, Kerry (Joyce) Luker of Demopolis and Jimbo (Suzanne) Luker of Pinson; two grandchildren; four stepdaughters and one stepson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 20, at 3 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel is directing the services.
Active pallbearers will be Tyler Stegall, Alex Stegall, David Coats, Rich Porter, Tony Luker and Edward Eugene Luker. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tuesday morning Bible Study group of Hanceville, the congregation of the Hopewell Church of God and the Uniontown Church of God.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, the American Diabetes Association, 200 Office Park Dr., Suite 303, Birmingham, AL 35223, or the charity of one’s choice.
