Two walks will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the city park in downtown Demopolis, with both seeking to raise awareness in physical and mental health.
The Demopolis Pilot Club will host its annual Brain Walk to help raise awareness for brain health and prevention of brain injuries.
The Bigbee Humane Society and Harriet’s House are teaming up with the “Bark in the Park,” in which people are invited to bring their pets for a walk from the park to the city landing and back.
The pet walk is being held in conjunction with National PAWS Day, and seeks to raise awareness of pet and domestic abuse. “PAWS” stands for “Pets And Women’s Shelters.” Organizers are asking for a $20 donation for participants to take part.
